Going back to Cali…

You are WELCOME for that ear worm.  Don’t know what I’m talking about?

Every time I would think about going to California and every time I’ve thought about it since I’ve been back, this song runs through my head!

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have gone! There were experiences that I might have never had otherwise! The reason I went was to learn all I can regarding blogging, social media and the fitness business.

First of all, thank you Fit Approach!

I flew out Wednesday morning bright and early.  And by bright and early, I mean it was still dark!

It was pretty neat to see the sun rising on the east coast and set on the west in the same day!

Upon arrival, I took a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and the shuttle driver was insanely nice! As a matter of fact, everyone I came into contact was incredibly nice.  I’m not sure why this shocked me, but it did!

Anyway, I checked into my hotel, dropped off my bags and went to lunch.  I ate at Kansas City BBQ. This is where Goose and Maverick sang Great Balls of Fire in the movie Top Gun.  It was decent.  I’ve had better. I’ve also had worse. The onion rings were really good.  The slaw was different.  It was vinegar based and her in the south we have mayo based.

After lunch, I checked into the conference and went back to the room to attempt a nap.  Between not being able to sleep from excitement the night before and a full day of travel before 10AM, I was exhausted. I think I may have dozed for a few minutes.  It was not easy!

After napping, I made plans to meet up with a fellow attendee for dinner and in the meantime, my roomie made it back to the room.

We met up with Andrea and walked along the bay to find dinner.

We found The Fish Market and it did not disappoint.  I enjoyed the Seafood Louie Salad with the Basil Vinaigrette dressing.

I can not even tell you how delicious this was.  The view was incredible, the company was excellent and the food was something I’d want to eat every single day! After dinner, we walked along the bay back to the hotel.  We tried to stay on the water front for the sunset but it was COLD.  That was an all new experience for this Florida girl!

Once we got back to the room, we wound down and get ready to crash a bit early because Day One of the conference was going to dawn bright and early!

Stay tuned for a recap of Day 1!

  1. I am happy you enjoyed your stay in California. I haven’t been there in years! I wish I had the time and resources to visit my family there in Anaheim. Your food photos are fantastic. I was drooling over that salad!
